Unlike last year, the plan was to act like a limpet. Sit in, sit in. If I was there are the end, I’d not contest the sprint as all I’d done was sit in. By sitting in, hopefully I’d not be shed on the hills.

Because it was there, I went. A two, 2.5 hour drive and I was set for a 30 minute time trial in windy, but mild and sunny conditions. Not having my power meter replacement parts yet meant this the race was ridden to feel. I arrived with enough time to cut a couple of blockies and not really warm up. No matter, today’s race was just for the TT experience. I’d last ridden this course at the start of 2014, so having a comparison time would tell me if I am actually slow or fat at the moment.
