No getting to 75kg like I proposed after last year’s race – this year I was 1kg heavier, so I was not expecting a pb based in the hypothesis that 500g equals 20 seconds. Bike wise, I adjusted my front end 1cm lower than last year, so I was a little more aero. Test riding of this position resulted in increased pressure on my perineum. Thankfully, in January 2016, the UCI changed their rules again, allowing for up to 9 degrees of saddle tile (they used to have to be flat). Adjusting mine 2.4 degrees, no more pressure.
Though I hate this course for its hills, it is great that it has been on the calendar for the last four years as that way, form can be judged. Continue reading
